CHANDIGARH is the first planned modern city of India designed by the French architect Le Corbusier. Chandigarh is a city in India that serves as the capital of two states - Punjab and Haryana. This garden has several interlinked man-made waterfalls, puddles and various sculptures made from scrap like plastic bottles, auto parts, clay, coal, marbles, forks, frames, tiles, ceramic pots, electrical waste and accessories like bangles. The sculptures mostly resemble animals and humans, but some are great examples of abstract art. This garden is a vision of the kingdom of Sukhrani, started by Nek Chand. This make-believe kingdom has 14 chambers representing the Durbar, Royal poets and musicians' chamber, swimming pool meant for the queen, pavilions and other areas for royal leisure.

SUKHNA LAKE

Leisure The lake is enclosed by a golf course on the south and the famous Rock Garden on its western end. The Sukhna Lake is also the habitat of a number of fishes and migratory birds like cranes and Siberian ducks. It has also been declared as a reserved national wetland by the Government of India.

The promenade on the shores of the lake is often crowded by a stream of joggers and walkers. The scenic beauty of the lake serves as a true delight for the photographers and artists who love to capture the mesmerizing view. It is the best place to view both Sunrise and the Sunset.

ROSE GARDEN

The other major attraction of the garden is more than 32,500 varieties of trees and medicinal plants. Some of the medicinal plants that can be spotted here are bel, bahera, harar, camphor and yellow gulmohar. The garden is designed like a park and contains long stretches and curves of walking path which makes it comfortable for people who are jogging and exercising.

ROHTANG PASS MANALI

Rohtang Pass- a gateway to Lahaul and Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh, remains one of the most spectacular destinations in the entire Kullu region. This picturesque pass is located around 51 kms away from Manali, at a height of 3980 meters, on Manali Keylong highway. This mountain slope is so beautiful that people from every corner of the country visit this place to take part in adventure sports such as skiing, ice-skating, paragliding, etc.

The Rohtang Pass is open for tourist from April to October and the permission to travel on this highway is given by the Indian Army, once they clear the snow. Just beyond the stunning Rohatng pass is the Sonapani Glacier and the twin peak of Gaypan, which is known for its panoramic view and peaceful atmosphere. People visit this spot to have some refreshing moments purely in the arms of mother nature. Some people also visit the famous Beas Kund, the source of the Beas River and a holy site for Hindus as the same is easily accessible from the Rohtang Pass. It is believed that the sage Vyas used to meditate at this site.

SAJLA WATERFALL: Sajla Waterfall, on the left bank of River Beas, is a beautiful natural waterfall at Village Sajla. It is about 10 Km from Manali. The Sajla Falls is surrounded by deodar trees, pine trees, apple orchards and spectacular snow-covered mountain peaks; this fall is a charming picnic spot. The first sight of the falls is quite hidden and will be a surprise for the visitor as the water unexpectedly rushes from a cluster of rocks. You can also enjoy a refreshing bath at this fall or you can even leisurely swim in the small pool of this falls.

One can trek up the hill to reach the top of the hill which provides a better view of the waterfall and its lovely surroundings. The short trek up the hill is fairly easy. After visiting the Sajla temple complex you can start the trek. The trek route passes through narrow lane by the side of temple and it goes through apple orchids, tall pine trees small water streams.
