Fly in and do nothing at all. The single most useful day of the trip is the one spent resting at altitude.

Day 2A second day in Leh
Short, low-effort sightseeing around the town — the palace, the market and a monastery close by.
Today: Leh Palace · Main Bazaar · Shanti Stupa.
Day 3Monasteries of the Indus Valley
Down the valley to Thiksey, Hemis and Shey, all at a gentler altitude than Leh itself.
Today: Thiksey Monastery · Hemis Monastery · Shey Palace.
Day 4Over Khardung La to Nubra
The high pass and down into the Nubra valley, with dunes and the double-humped camels at Hunder.
Today: Khardung La · Hunder Dunes · Diskit Monastery.
Day 5East to Pangong
Across to the lake, which changes colour through the day and is worth the long drive to reach.
Today: Shyok Route · Pangong Lake · Lakeside Camp.
Day 6Return and Departure
Back to Leh via Chang La with a final night in town before your flight out.
